Mission Support & Workshop Manager (MSWM)

The MSWM is responsible for the management, compliance, performance, organisation, control and leadership of the Maintenance Services performed by the Special Mission Engineering Workshop.

Subject to meeting CASA requirements this position will be appointed as a Responsible Manager for the Special Mission Engineering (SME) Part 145 Maintenance Organisation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management and compliance of SME Aeronautical Product Maintenance Services in accordance with the Maintenance Organisation Exposition and Procedure Manuals
  • Management of the Wescam Authorised Service Centre, including Invoicing and Administrative duties
  • Responsible for assigned budget and finance targets, with strong business acumen
  • Working closely with the Quality Manager and Head of Maintenance for the standard and quality of completed maintenance documentation by Maintenance Personnel, including sampling on behalf of the Quality & Safety Department
  • Ensure the SME Workshop has all Resources to perform the scope of Maintenance Services requested
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Assist and provide full cooperation with any Quality & Safety Auditor (QSA) and investigators during audits and investigations
  • liaise as necessary with Operators, Suppliers, Subcontractors, manufacturers and manufacturers’ representatives

Skills and Experience:

Experience within aviation in a similar role.

Master of Aviation Management or selected units of competency or equivalent qualification.

  • Aviation Aeronautical Product repairs and overhaul workshop experience in a Part 145 environment
  • Ability to hold a CASA form4 position.
  • Experience in managing ITAR affected equipment
  • Commercial and Business Finance acumen, P&L, Budget preparation, formal qualifications in Finance
