At Hinterland Aviation the emphasis is on providing you with the highest level of safety and delivering exceptional service. We are a dedicated team who pride ourselves in getting to know clients’ individual requirements, and our reputation results in the majority of our business perpetuated through personal recommendation and long term clients.
In order to meet CASA standards our pilots are required to pass the following tests each year. These are conducted by our designated Check and Training Department; all trainers are approved by CASA:
Two base & two line checks per annum in the Cessna Caravan – the pilot is tested on standard operational procedures
4 simulator sessions per annum supervised by external instructor
Annual EFATO (Engine Failure After Take Off) and emergency glide training, the pilot is required to glide to landing using instruments only
Annual life raft and survival training
Supported by a large engineering division employing sixteen qualified technicians with our own engine maintenance facility and avionics department we have considerable capability in aircraft maintenance. Five of our engineers have turbine licenses and are able to tend to maintenance off site.
This allows us to maximise the safety, reliability and efficiency of our own aircraft. All of our fleet maintenance is to a class A maintenance standard. We are audited by CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) and B.V (Bureau Veritas) annually.
Not relying on outside contractors allows the company to be in control of its destiny whilst being a large employer of local skilled professionals.
