Jeppesen and Company was founded in 1934 by Captain Elrey Borge Jeppesen, to produce the first instrument flying charts in the basement workshop of his Salt Lake City home. Today, and now owned by Boeing, Jeppesen is the leader in providing flight information throughout the world. Besides Airway Manual services, the company offers navigational information in a wide variety of paper and electronic formats. It also provides a number of other aviation information services, including airport information, flight planning services, computerised weather, and pilot training materials.
Not satisfied with past accomplishments, Jeppesen is at the leading edge of the electronic revolution in the aviation industry. In 1996, Jeppesen introduced JeppView®, the electronic version of the Airway Manual service. Jeppesen continues to lead the digital revolution with innovative solutions like the Electronic Flight Bag and sophisticated flight planning systems. As aviation progresses into the digital age, one can be assured that Jeppesen will lead the way.
