Universal Training Systems (UTS) and Flight Options (Australia) Pty Ltd are about to launch a new training centre on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland Australia.
UTS is located in a state of the art complex on the Sunshine Coast Airport, previously owned and operated by a major overseas airline to train its pilots on jet equipment.
The facility includes two sim bays, class rooms, briefing rooms, lounges, catering facilities, FBO and substantial tarmac space with direct airside access.
The complex is in close proximity with hangar and maintenance facilities to support all levels of training aircraft, including jets, and can support 24 hour operations.
Importantly the location was initially selected because of availability of substantial accommodation within minutes of the airfield. At the same time, the airport has direct links to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Auckland and is only one hour’s drive from Brisbane International Airport.
Currently there is a CASA Certified Level D full motion Cessna Citation Mustang Simulator operational and utilised for training including for initial type ratings and airline transport pilots licence (ATPL).
Under UTS operational arm, Flight Options, there is extensive capability to train from ab-initio through to advance jet training.
Briefly UTS / Flight Options will be offering:
- Ab-initio Pilot Training (Private, Instrument and Commercial);
- Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC);
- Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL);
- Cessna Citation C510 Initial and Recurrent Type Training;
- Beechcraft King Air KA200/350i Initial and Recurrent Type Training.
The Senior Management team in the company have extensive experience in the industry including Senior Instructors from domestic and international airlines and regional aviation.
In April 2016, a joint announcement from UTS and Ansett Aviation Training confirmed the installation of a new King Air 200/350i Level D simulator in the facility which will be available in late 2016.
