Australia’s newest airport, Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport (WTB) is the gateway to Toowoomba and south-west Queensland.
It is the first privately-funded public airport built in Australia and the first public airport to open since Tullamarine almost 50 years ago.
Hailed as a game changer for the Toowoomba region, the airport was developed by Wagners, an Australian family-owned company providing construction and infrastructure materials and services across the globe.
A world-class facility, the airport commenced operations in November 2014. Airlines servicing the airport include QantasLink and Regional Express Airlines (REX).
The airport’s 2.87kilometre runway is the second longest regional runway in Queensland and is capable of handling regular passenger (RPT) services and freight charters from within Australia, to Asia and beyond.
The state of the art terminal is designed to welcome up to 1.5million passengers per year and is one of the largest regional airport terminals in Australia.
Adjacent to the airport is Wellcamp Business Park – a 500 hectare five-star precinct suitable for a variety of companies and industries including avionics, logistics and transport, warehousing, manufacturing and factory outlets.
