Introduction
The RAAA Pilot Scholarships are intended to assist in the training or advancement of current and future commercial pilots in regional Australia undergoing training or working in the Australian aviation industry for an RAAA member or associated to the scholarship sponsor.
The following pilot scholarships are available through the RAAA:
2019
RAAA Moorabbin Flying Services Mutli-Crew Cooperation Scholarship
One (1) scholarship will be awarded as encouragement to the continuing education of promising flight crew. This course will take seven (7) working days and at the successful completion of the course and simulator training the recipients will be signed off and receive a certificate of completion for the MCC course. Moorabbin Flying Services and/or the RAAA are not responsible or liable for any travel costs required by the scholarship winners to attend these course.
RAAA Ansett Aviation Training Pilot Scholarship
Funded by Ansett Aviation Training it is intended that two (2) scholarships will be awarded as an encouragement to the continuing education of promising pilots. The scholarship winners will complete a Rating course on either the Beechcraft Super Kingair B200 or Fairchild Metroliner III/23 aircraft. The total cost of the courses will be covered by Ansett Aviation Training. Either course will take twelve (12) working days and at the successful completion of the course and simulator training the recipients will complete a final check ride to confirm they have reached a competent standard. Included in the Rating are 3 take-off and landings in the applicable aircraft to complete CASA requirements. Ansett Aviation Training and/or the RAAA are not responsible or liable for any travel costs required by the scholarship winners, however, Ansett Aviation Training will provide accommodation and car hire for the duration of the course.
RAAA Jeppesen Pilot Scholarship
One (1) scholarship awarded annually. Funded by Jeppesen Australia through the Jeppesen Aviation Foundation with a value of $5,000, it is intended as an encouragement to the continuing education of a promising pilot. The scholarship will be awarded during the RAAA National Convention and funds may be used to assist with meeting the cost of studies, books and materials, or for accommodation and travel expenses directly related to advancing their aviation career.
