Save the date!!! Perth July 28/29/30th
Just another friendly reminder on the next Roadshow in Perth, dates as above with the first night a launch party for Aviation Australia’s new training facility at Jandakot Airport.
We have settled on a venue which will be the Mercure Perth, who have also provided a very reasonable deal for our members who will wish to stay there. You may want to book early!
Members are to quote code: RAAAC – however mentioning the event date to the reservations team will also allow them to pull that up in the system. Members can call direct on (08) 9326 7000 weekdays only from 8am (AWST). They will receive the accommodation for $136.80 per night, room only rate. If they want Breakfast it is $20 and must be arranged on check in.
Still finalising the program but at this stage we will have Kevin Brown, the CEO of Perth Airport update us all on new runway and other activities at the airport. I am still hoping to have WA Transport Minister Rita Saffioti attend, however if not, a senior departmental official will present on WA’s Aviation Strategy in her absence. WA state government have taken a keener interest in aviation in their state than just about anywhere else, so this will be a great chance to hear from the government on their vision for the future of aviation in WA and what support they are providing.
CASA and Airservices are also attending and this will give our WA members a chance to be updated in this space. We are very fortunate to have two of our members to present for us as well, including Bureau of Meteorology (Ashwin Naidu) and Ms Rebecca Johnston, founding partner at Johnston Wheeler to provide some very insightful aviation legal updates and insights into Board risks.
Due to popular demand and feedback from our Dubbo event, I have also reached out to Peter Foley, the former head of the ATSB’s investigation and search for MH370. Peter’s presentation at Dubbo was fascinating and we received great feedback from our members. We will have to wait for any confirmation on Peter attending as he has competing prior commitments, but he has indicated his willingness to come, fingers crossed!!
None the less, as always we are looking forward to socialising and networking once again with our members (and hopefully some non-members) in Perth. With recent Covid outbreaks we can only cross our fingers and hope, as always if anyone needs to cancel due to Covid restrictions, money will be reimbursed.
Booking details available soon.
