We are pleased to welcome Emerald Airport to the RAAA as an Associate Member.
Emerald Airport is located 6 km south of Emerald’s town centre in the Central Highlands, Queensland and is currently serviced by Qantas and Virgin Australia.
Emerald Airport recently completed a number of airside works. The works included fixing a number of localised runway and apron failures. The main runway 06/24 was overlaid using Stone Mastic Asphalt, an Australian first. The works also included the demolition and complete reconstruction of the existing general aviation apron, plus enlarging that precinct. The area now includes two dedicated helicopter parking bays (new), two Code 1B parking bays (new) and an additional six smaller parking bays with tie downs.

This investment into regional aviation as well as general aviation was supported financially by Local, State and Federal Government.
