Submission to the Jobs and Skills Australia consultation on the Core Skills Occupations List (CSOL)

Written by Natalie Gane on -

Jobs and Skills Australia have been consulting on whether aeroplane and helicopter pilots should remain on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) for migration.

(Note this is different from the Migration Skills Occupation List (MSOL) which preference temporary skills for visa purposes. Also it only refers to pilots and not LAMEs as they remain on the CSOL).

The RAAA strongly requests that the Federal Government continues to explore and provide every available opportunity for Australian aviation businesses to source and recruit the necessary skills and in particular pilots from overseas and that aeroplane pilots (231111) and helicopter pilots (231114) remain on the Core Skills Occupations List (CSOL) to facilitate any future recruitment.
