The RAAA has released its report into the critical shortages of licenced aircraft maintenance engineers (LAMEs). The report looks why we got into this situation and offers up tangible and achievable solutions for governments and the regulator CASA. The situation is absolutely dire in our regional areas and is only going to get worst if solutions are not addressed soon. We need short-term fixes for the here and now but long-term solutions to ensure we have adequate supply of home grown engineers going forward.
